from Your Lawyer
As a sole practitioner, I am a “local lawyer for local people.” I provide my best for people who need legal help. I believe my education and background give me a unique advantage in providing legal services to clients in Mississippi and Tennessee. I received my law degree, Juris Doctor, from the Ole Miss Law School in 1989 and began practice in Mississippi in 1990. My practice in Tennessee began in 2005.
I am admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the State of Mississippi and all Municipal, Justice, County, Circuit and Chancery Courts of the State of Mississippi and the Supreme Court and Lower Courts of the State of Tennessee. I am also admitted to the United States Supreme Court; United States Fifth Federal Circuit Court of Appeals; United States District Court for the Northern District of Mississippi; United States District Court for the Southern District of Mississippi.
My background includes practice in civil, criminal and administrative cases both at the State and Federal level. I have served as an adjunct professor at Northwest Mississippi Community College, Delta State University and Ole Miss in undergraduate and paralegal studies programs. Examples of Seminars taught include Litigation and Practice Skills for Paralegals and Legal Assistants; Family Law Update; Preventing Legal Malpractice Claims and Ethical Complaints; Duties of Guardian Ad Litem; Handling A Social Security Disability Case; Social Security Bootcamp.
My work history includes employment with the Department of Justice/United States Attorney’s Office and prior to my legal career I pursued a career in banking.
Other formal education consists of: BPA (Cum Laude) Legal Systems-University Mississippi; School of Education, University of Mississippi-Alternate Route Teacher Certification; Houston High School, Houston, Mississippi.
